Dhevaraj Hotel

Dhevaraj Hotel review: central Nan market setting, Standard versus Deluxe room sizes, pool and meal context, plus dated guest noise and maintenance accounts.

Dhevaraj Hotel is an established Nan town hotel on Sumon Thewarat Road, with markets forming a useful part of its immediate setting. Its practical appeal is a central base with parking and more conventional hotel facilities than a small guesthouse. Room size and the building’s older character still need to be considered together.

Standard and Deluxe have a clear size difference

Agoda lists Standard Twin and Standard Double at 20 square metres, with two singles or one double respectively. Deluxe Twin and Deluxe Double are listed at 25 square metres, and VIP at 30. Booking.com’s current Standard and Deluxe measurements broadly corroborate that distinction.

The extra Deluxe area can matter when two people have larger cases or expect to use the room during the day. It is not evidence of a separate lounge. The VIP bed wording varies between a king and alternative larger-bed arrangements, so a group should establish its allocated configuration rather than treat the category name as a guaranteed room plan.

The market location is a stronger reason to stay

Guests repeatedly describe the central setting and markets around the hotel. A Trip.com visitor who stayed in May 2026 liked the nearby market, convenience store, staff and comfortable bed. The address is 466 Sumon Thewarat in Nai Wiang, corroborated by the property and booking listings.

This can make a Nan cultural stay practical without depending on the hotel for every meal or activity. Wat Phumin belongs to the central town chapter, while Wat Phra That Chae Haeng requires the separate east-bank road journey. The hotel’s location should be used for its town context rather than stretched into a claim that all provincial temples are immediately close.

An older building can produce different room experiences

A September 2025 Standard-room guest described the hotel as a little old but liked the space and parking. Another Standard-room visitor in August 2025 reported lift-area cleanliness and Wi-Fi problems. These dated accounts deserve room in the decision alongside later positive reports.

The evidence does not establish a single renovation date or that every category has been updated together. A hotel photograph of a newer-looking room is therefore not enough to infer that all Standard rooms have the same condition. A visitor mainly seeking a functional town stop may weigh that differently from someone choosing primarily for a recently refurbished interior.

Breakfast and the pool are not one fixed package

Trip.com guests have praised breakfast, including a June 2026 Standard-room visitor. A Deluxe guest in May 2025 described meal format changing with occupancy between a set breakfast and a buffet. Their observation is useful context, not a permanent timetable or a guaranteed number of dishes.

Agoda and Booking.com list an outdoor pool. The same May 2025 guest reported needing a coupon from reception to use it. Someone choosing partly for a swim should establish the present access arrangement instead of assuming a pool icon means unrestricted use at any hour. The older account does not fix today’s pool hours.

Room sound and bathroom details remain relevant

A November 2025 Standard-room visitor liked the markets but found sound insulation limited. Another Standard-room guest described a basin outside the bathroom. These are concrete aspects of the room experience that a broad central-location description does not convey.

The older Deluxe account also mentioned unstable hot-and-cold water. That should remain one visitor’s report in one category, rather than a claim that every shower is faulty. Together, the accounts favour assessing the actual room and sleeping requirements rather than relying on the hotel’s size or central address alone.

A conventional town base for a temple chapter

Dhevaraj is a plausible choice for travellers who want parking, a restaurant and access to everyday Nan streets in one stay. The larger Deluxe footprint has a clearer rationale for a couple wanting more room, while a Standard Twin can provide separate beds for a short stop.

The weaker fit is a trip requiring highly predictable sound isolation or a uniform newly renovated room. Its established town-hotel character can work well for a cultural visit, provided the chosen category, room condition and desired pool or meal arrangements are treated as specific decisions. The market setting is the practical advantage that most clearly distinguishes it.
