The recent work reports are material to the decision
A Trip.com guest staying in September 2026 and posting in October said renovations were continuing and that several facilities were unavailable. The hotel’s reply acknowledged ongoing renovation and temporary facility closures. That is stronger evidence than a vague complaint that a room looks old, although neither the review nor the reply establishes a completion date.
Other 2026 accounts show why the experience cannot be reduced to one simple label. A June guest described a refreshed, spacious room, while a July Jacuzzi Premier guest mentioned work on the facade and a modern, comfortable room. A refurbished bedroom and work elsewhere in the property can coexist. Do not assume that a positive new-room report means all shared facilities are finished.
The practical consequence is to verify the exact facilities that matter for the intended dates, especially if the pool is the reason for selecting a particular room. No end date for the works or promise of full operation is adopted here. The recent reports should remain part of the choice until the hotel provides a current answer.
The room collection offers real alternatives
The hotel’s published room collection includes Deluxe Twin, Deluxe Double, Pool Access, Corner Premier, Jacuzzi Premier, Duplex and Grand Vista Suite categories. These describe different layouts and uses, rather than a single room offered under several decorative names. Twin beds suit companions wanting separate sleeping spaces; pool access is a different priority from a private bath feature.
The official presentation describes 80 rooms and a blend of contemporary and Lanna styling. A hotel-wide room count does not establish the availability of any particular layout. The most useful comparison is therefore between the named category and its function: separate beds, direct pool relationship, corner position or suite living space.
A March 2026 Pool Access guest liked stepping directly into the pool from the room. That is a category-specific experience from that stay. It should not be presented as the experience of a standard Deluxe room, nor as proof that the pool will be usable through a later phase of renovation.

The main road is convenient and limiting
The property address is 185 Moo 25 in Rop Wiang, and guest accounts place Big C next door and Central Chiang Rai across the main road. A July 2026 Deluxe Double guest praised access to shopping and the comfortable large bed. A different guest found walking from the road-based setting difficult and relied on transfers for sightseeing.
These views can both be reasonable. Nearby shopping is useful if meals and supplies are part of the stay, but being across a major road is not the same as being on a small pedestrian street. Plan crossings and vehicle pickup deliberately. No precise walk time or universal safe route is promised here.
For the temple chapter, Wat Rong Khun is a separate southbound outing and Wat Rong Suea Ten requires a different journey toward the Kok River area. Grand Vista’s location supports a road itinerary; it does not create a temple neighbourhood around the hotel.
The appeal depends on the room and the current works
A September 2026 Corner Premier guest praised room space, a soft bed and breakfast. An April 2026 Jacuzzi Premier guest found breakfast basic and the surroundings limited beyond the shopping centres. Those are individual judgements attached to different stays, useful for understanding why food and location receive uneven comments.
Grand Vista is most compelling for someone wanting a spacious city hotel room with a specific layout and easy road access. It is less straightforward for a traveller expecting the entire property’s leisure offer to be available without checking the renovation situation. The recent work context should lead the decision, with the attractive room photographs read alongside it.
