Rim Kok is a particular side of the city
The address is 482 Moo 4 on Mae Kok Road in Rim Kok. The local tourism directory identifies the property with riverside accommodation and the Blue Temple neighbourhood. That is a different base from the city’s central bus-terminal and bazaar area. A Chiang Rai address alone does not describe the evening experience.
For Wat Rong Suea Ten, this setting makes geographic sense: both hotel and temple are in the Rim Kok area. Wat Rong Khun is a separate journey south of town, however. Staying beside a river should not be interpreted as having a temple shuttle or boat service included. Arrange the actual road transfer for the White Temple outing.
A river view and a balcony suite are different choices
The hotel’s Imperial group listing names Deluxe rooms, Deluxe River View rooms and Balcony River View Suites. The dedicated suite page describes 67 square metres, a living area, a private balcony and a bathtub looking toward the Kok River. The additional space is therefore useful for someone planning to sit and spend time in the room, rather than merely wanting a river-facing window.
The suite description also lists a desk, refrigerator, tea or coffee equipment and separate seating. These support a longer stay with time indoors. They do not mean a Deluxe room has the same balcony or layout. Keep the exact category attached to the feature that matters, particularly if the balcony is the main reason for choosing this property.
Published suite measurements differ: Imperial’s group information and linked factsheet give 67 square metres for the Balcony River View Suite, while Expedia’s suite card gives 826 square feet. Those figures are not equivalent. Confirm the exact suite dimensions if the amount of space is important rather than assuming the larger figure is assured.
The grounds receive praise; room condition is less uniform
An Expedia guest staying for a week in December 2025 praised the extensive grounds, pool and river setting, and found the Blue Temple and restaurants nearby useful. A February 2026 guest also praised the room, property and staff. These accounts support the appeal of returning to the resort between sightseeing visits.
Another December 2025 guest described a large room but dated furnishings and a less welcoming service experience. That is not proof every room is tired or that staff will behave the same way. It is a reason to consider the property’s established style and individual room condition alongside the attractive grounds.
A guest reporting a November 2024 stay said noise from a wedding near the pool reached their room. This is an event-specific account, not a claim of nightly disturbance. Anyone choosing a riverside resort specifically for silence should distinguish the setting from the possibility of weddings or group functions.
Allow the hotel stay to have its own purpose
The current Imperial group page promotes a large pool overlooking the garden and river. The dedicated hotel site also publishes meeting and event facilities. Those two uses can coexist; a property with spacious grounds may appeal to holidaymakers and event organisers for different reasons.
The hotel is a stronger candidate for travellers who want a riverside pause and a base on the Blue Temple side of town than for visitors whose priority is walking out into the central bazaar every night. For a short temple circuit, that location tradeoff matters more than adding a long amenities list. A balcony suite can strengthen the appeal of time at the property, while a simpler river-view category may serve a trip spent mostly out.
